Running order in semester two - classes will be split into two

Communication NC - (FA1W 12)

By now, all of you should have passed the first two assessments – 5-8 minutes oral presentation and the 650-1000 words formal report. If not, you MUST attend to this as a matter of priority. There are two further assessments – Listening and Reading analysis. They are straightforward, if you follow my help notes and attend my classes…

27/1 – easing back into the semester with some reflective writing / tidying up of reports as necessary.

3/2 – PP on listening information, what that assessment entails and watching a TED talk. Questions given out in class and discussed in small groups next week.

10/2 – go over the TED talk questions in small groups and sample answers supplied. Second practise talk qs and link given out.

17/2 – go over the second TED talk questions in small groups. Sample answers supplied.

24/2 – Listening assessment watched in class. Assessment brief given out. Brief discussion.

3/3, 10/3, 17/3 – Listening assessment done in own time – submission date, 17th March 2022 – by e mail. You will be authorised for these three weeks so you can work on your answers in your own time.

24/3 – listening marking returned to you and you can work on any remediation in class time.

31/3 – reading analysis PP, practise text and sample qs given out.

7 and 14 April – holidays

21/4 – go over the practise text and answers in small groups. Sample answers distributed. Practise text two given out.

28/4 - go over the practise text and answers in small groups. Sample answers distributed. Info about final assessment discussed.

5/5, 12/5, 19/5 – reading assessment done in class.

26th May – holiday

2/6 and 9/6 – classes only used if necessary. Everything MUST be passed by 9th June 2023.
